Sailor Moon Day at Anime Expo 2014

It was a literal day of Sailor Moon on July 5th as attendees packed the hallways and patios outside in line as they hoped to be admitted to the official Sailor Moon panel hosted by Viz this year at Anime Expo. There were so many fans that they had to turn the floods of people away once the room was filled to max capacity. The panel consisted of screenings of the new versions of Sailor Moon, a Q&A with the new English cast of the soon-to-be remastered version of the original anime, and special announcements!

To kick off the event, the new Viz dubbed version of the old Sailor Moon animation was screened, much to the delight of some, and groans of others as they heard the new voices of Usagi, Luna, and more! Viz then brought out the cast for a small discussion from pre-prepared questions and a little Q&A with the fans.

The new cast members are:

  • Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon – Stephanie Sheh
  • Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury – Kate Higgins
  • Minako Aino/Sailor Venus – Cherami Leigh
  • Rei Hino/Sailor Mars – Christina Vee
  • Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter – Amanda C. Miller
  • Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask – Robbie Daymond
  • Luna – Michelle Ruff
  • Artemis – Johnny Young Bosch

As for new announcements, Viz has announced that this coming November 11, 2014, you can get the  limited edition package of the first half of Season 1, which includes episodes 1-23 re-mastered, an 88-page full color booklet, a premium chipboard box  with rainbow sparkle foil, and 6 discs (3 DVD and 3 Blu-ray)!
