May’n, Tokyo Girls’ Style, DAICHI, Una, YANAKIKU and more at J-POP SUMMIT Festival in San Francisco


This year’s J-POP SUMMIT Festival in San Francisco is going to be big. It’s a celebration of Japanese arts including pop culture, music, fashion and film. During the event inside the Japantown district (Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th), the festival will feature J-pop/rock stars including:

  • Pop/rock/anime singer May’n
  • Teen pop idol group Tokyo Girls’ Style, first-ever U.S. appearance
  • Beat boxer DAICHI
  • Harajuku fashion model/singer Una
  • The U.S. debut of the kimono cosplay duo YANAKIKU
  • J-rock band Pinky Doodle Poodle
  • All-girl punk rock trio The Akabane Vulgars

Also, the concert sets will be FREE and will take place throughout the weekend on the Pagoda Main Stage in Japantown’s Peace Plaza and at the Union Square. Last year’s event held over 80,000 people.
