X-Men: Days of Future Past after-credits scene explained

Okay, this will have spoilers in it, so if you haven’t watched X-Men: Days of Future Past, I suggest you look away now. However, if you’ve seen the movie or know that Bryan Singer will be working on the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse movie, then this shouldn’t be a surprise.

Now onto the spoilers. If you waited after the end credits, you’re treated to a scene of Ancient Egypt. You see a young mutant manipulating the pyramids, who turns out to be Apocalypse, complete with white face and dark blue lips. Off to the side you see four horsemen, representing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

To explain things further, writer Simon Kinberg has given us details in an interview from IGN that the boy we see in the after-credits scene may not be the actor in X-Men: Apocalypse.

“The post-credit sequence is a tease into what will be the Apocalypse movie. Now the Apocalypse you see – that young boy – may not be the actor who plays the character in our movie.” He continues, “It’s a deep back story glimpse into the character, but our movie doesn’t take place in ancient Egypt and will likely not star a young boy Apocalypse.”
