Review: Amped Wireless Long Range Bluetooth Speaker Adapter

Amped Main

This won’t be the longest review, which in this case is actually a positive feature. Like many audiophiles out there, I have a set of speakers which I find the be absolutely perfect for my living room. Unfortunately, since they still use a 3.5mm connection, I was unable use much else other than my television set with them. Not having a fancy Smart TV either, I was always disconnecting cables and reconnecting to my phone anytime I wanted some music. That’s not sexy.

Amped 1
The Amped Wireless Long Range Bluetooth Speaker Adapter (quite a mouthful) is the solution for this scenario. This little black box will stream audio through a simple Bluetooth connection through to your 3.5mm or RCA connection. Virtually little to no setup required, it’s an easy and simple solution to a common problem. But what are you getting for your $70?

Design

Sleek, black, small, and discreet with only one small visible blue LED to confirm connection, it isn’t exactly an eye-catcher. While many have opted for soundbars, this is a much cheaper and simpler solution if you already own a nice pair of speakers. An antennae sticks out from behind can be aimed in a 180 degree radius.

An RCA and 3.5mm connection adorn the back of the device, along with the power adapter plug.

Function/Setup

The device performs, and quite well for that matter. I was still able to receive an uninterrupted connection through two walls and ~ 100 feet. Simply syncing your device to the AMP-named Bluetooth profile will begin streaming all audio.

No app installation is required, and it performs quite the same as a vehicle’s Bluetooth speaker connection. Setup instructions are provided, although not required. Simply plugging in everything that fits is the solution in this matter.

Final Reaction

For what it does, the BTSA1 excels. I would have liked to have multiple profiles, as well as an LCD screen for some connection information. At a price of $70, those seeking an easy, stable solution will find it with the Amped Wireless BTSA1. It’s simple, effective, and is a quality solution.
