The problem with Sailor Moon as it was edited for America is that we weren’t treated as mature enough to handle the series in its entirety. With its underlying themes of sexuality (rather, overt themes of homosexuality) and transgender transformations, a lot of the anime was edited for feel-good family wholesomeness, but please leave off the cheese. It will make America fat (with lesbian love stories and romance.)

Remember Uranus and Neptune, and how they were just close cousins in the series? Yeah, spoiler alert: they’re not.

Anyway, this would be a good time to get your Hulu subscription if you don’t have one already.
