Far Cry 4 announced!

I didn’t really get into the previous Far Cry games, but when I played Far Cry 3, I was instantly a fan. The open-world FPS’ story, setting, villain, and gameplay got me hooked. Today, Ubisoft has announced Far Cry 4. Not only that, but it has also announced the release date as well. It will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 18, 2014.

The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Kiev helping out.

Instead of an island in the Pacific or the desert of Africa, you’ll find yourself in the Himalayas in a region called Kyrat. It’s struggling under a self-appointed king, and I’m going to assume it’s up to you to take him down.

“Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations,” said Dan Hay, Executive Producer. “Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we’re eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months.”

Also, if you pre-order, you’ll get a free upgrade to the Limited Edition that includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three single-player missions featuring Hurk from the Far Cry 3 DLC. It also includes “The Impaler,” Hurk’s harpoon gun.

Stay tuned as we’ll be uncovering the first look of the game during the Ubisoft E3 Media Briefing.
