K-pop sensation BoA to star in American dance movie

make your move boa

You’re probably thinking why we’re covering Make Your Move, a dance movie starring Dancing with the Stars‘ Derek Hough and directed by Duane Adler (Save the Last Dance, Step Up)? Well, it’s because it also stars Korean pop star BoA, whose songs are featured in many anime and video games including InuYasha, Ninety-Nine Nights and Tales of Graces (the Japanese love her). This marks her first English language feature film as a lead character.

The story isn’t all that important. White guy goes to a club and falls for an Asian girl. Two worlds collide, but in the end they defeat all odds…while dancing. Prove me wrong, guys!

Check out the trailer below.

The movie’s supporting actors include Will Yun Lee, who was last seen in The Wolverine.

Make Your Move releases in theaters on April 18, 2014!
