The Fantastic Four is a superhero team who gained their powers from exposure to cosmic rays during a space mission. The movie version might have a different origin story altogether. Acting Auditions has posted up a [purported] plot summary of the Fantastic Four film. Mr. Fantastic and Thing will get their powers as boys, and then later will get owned by the government. They will then meet Sue and Johnny Storm, who will already have their powers.

‘The Fantastic Four’ will tell the story of two very young friends, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm. After an event transforms the boys, they find themselves empowered with bizarre new abilities. Reed becomes a scientific genius who can stretch, twist and re-shape his body to inhuman proportions. Ben becomes a monstrous, craggy humanoid with orange, rock-like skin and super strength. However, the two end up being owned by the government and used as weapons. But after they mature, two others with powers come into the picture – Sue Storm “The Invisible Girl” and Johnny Storm “The Human Torch.”

Mad yet? If you’re a fan of Ultimate Fantastic Four, then this may be right up your alley.

The film’s script is done, and Miles Teller, an actor in the movie, has said that director Josh Trank is taking the film in a different direction.

So far we have Game of Throne‘s Kit Harington and Richard Madden, Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones), Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Miles Teller (That Awkward Moment) in talks for the roles.

The Fantastic Four reboot will hit theaters on June 19, 2015.
