Lightning Returns with an Evolution of Battle trailer

lightning returns final fantasy 13 evolution of battle

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 is, for better or worse, not going to play like the older Final Fantasy games that many of you remember. The game plays a lot more like an action game/rpg hybrid in which players have a lot of options as to how to approach adversarial situations, except that you can’t freely move around like you can in most action games. Another way to put it is that it feels sort of like a really fast-paced MMO with some action mechanics and good timing required from the player for things like dodging. I don’t know about the rest of you, but after having played it, I like the battle system. I’m more worried about whether or not I’ll care about the story and characters.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 will be available in North America on February 11th, and in Europe on February 14th for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Check out the latest trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13. How do you feel about the evolution of the battle system? Perhaps the newly released demo can help clear things up.
