EA, League of Legends, Battle.net websites taken down by hackers

Today’s been a rough day for Electronic Arts, RiotGames, and Blizzard, amongst others. A group identifying themselves as DERP has claimed to take down each company’s respective website. As of this writing, the sites themselves have been restored to their normal functionality. Each attacks have centered around popular streamer named Phantoml0rd. After the events transpired, Phantoml0rd himself got in touch with the hacker group and asked why they did it. Their responses? “For the lulz.”

Shortly after, Phantoml0rd was raided by the local police due to a false call. However, it seems all has been sorted out and Phantoml0rd was released without any harm. Much of what transpired today can be viewed in full detail on the League subreddit
