Here comes a new challenger! Considering the launch date of Super Smash Bros., we could be saying that for a long while now. Today, as you can see by the picture above, Toon Link has again joined the fray. There aren’t any details yet regarding his moveset, but a few of the pictures below give away a few of them. Toon Link will presumably be not too far off from what he used to be: a nimbler version of his older self, with slightly different moves.

The picture above is an interesting one. It could be that this is Toon Link’s opening animation, or his winning animation, but what if it wasn’t? Link’s ability to change the wind was an annoying feature for me in Wind Waker, but in the world of Smash Bros., it could be really, really helpful. Imagine changing the direction of the wind on your foes as they desperately try to fly back to the battlefield.

This is the year of Luigi, and Link is not having it. In the world of Smash Bros., you can’t trust anyone. Not even that pink ball of cuteness, Kirby.

Put the braiding techniques down and step away from the Link. I’m only going to ask you once.

My science level isn’t high enough to understand what’s going on in the above picture.
