Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg say Uncharted would be too much like Indiana Jones

Both Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg revealed that they have been asked by Naughty Dog to write a script for the Uncharted live-action film.

In an interview with IGN on their latest project, This Is the End, the duo said that Naughty Dog has asked them more than once for the past 4 years to help bring the popular video game to life on the big screen. They turned it down because they couldn’t find a better way to bring it to life.

“It’s just going to be Indiana Jones,” Goldberg said. “If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it’d be awesome.”

Yeah, the game is heavily inspired by Indiana Jones, and to do a movie that won’t make people think it’s ripping off Indy will be tough.

The Uncharted film has been in development for a while. It was originally suppose to be directed by David O. Russell with Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake. Thank goodness that didn’t happen.
