Joss Whedon confirms Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Iron Man for The Avengers 2
Joss Whedon has hinted that the superhero brother and sister, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, were going to be in the Avengers 2, saying that there was going to be “a brother/sister act.” EW later confirmed that it was indeed actually them. Now, Joss Whedon has confirmed it himself to IGN.
“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”
I’m hoping that they will get enough screen time, since these characters are very powerful and are important characters in the Avengers’ comic book. Black Widow and Hawkeye got the crappy end of the stick when it came to their screen time.
I recently read up on House of M, which had a very controversial story involving the Scarlet Witch. If you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the time, since it shows how powerful she can really be.
Spoilers Ahead for Iron Man 3
The ending of Iron Man 3 made it seem like Tony Stark is putting away the Iron Man armor for good. He got rid of his arc reactor on his chest and blew up the suits. Joss Whedon tells us not to worry, since he’ll be in Avengers 2.
“Well, I feel like in Iron Man 3, even though he said, ‘I’ve changed’ — he blew up his remote suits, but I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn’t have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up? And the answer is, ‘Yes!’”
