First look at James McAvoy in X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men: Days of Future Past is going to be a monumental movie. Combining the original X-Men cast along with the cast of X-Men: First Class can do that to a movie. In anticipation for the movie, Bryan Singer has tweeted us some behind-the-scenes shots of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Halle Berry’s Storm, Shawn Ashmore’s Iceman and Ellen Page’s Kitty. Now, he’s tweeted our first look at James McAvoy’s look as Charles Xavier from the set of the highly anticipated film. To say the least, Xavier looks very different in comparison with his First Class counterpart.

It’ll be very interesting to see what Bryan Singer does with X-Men: Days of Future Past since making a time-travel movie is a very slippery slope for a film. It can either be very clever or very muddled and confusing for the viewer. One thing’s for sure, James McAvoy’s look certainly does fit with the 70’s time period. What’s interesting is that McAvoy isn’t sporting the trademark bald look, while that doesn’t mean he won’t go bald in the film it’s interesting to see just how scruffy they made Professor X look.

X-Men: Days of Future Past powers into theaters July 18, 2014.
