Saints Row IV is coming August 20, 2013

saints row iv commander in chief edition

With THQ going under, it’s nice to see that Saints Row IV will still see the light of day this year. Now that developer Volition is under Deep Silver, the same publisher for Dead Island, everything is on course for the game to be released on August 20, 2013. Announced today is the Commander in Chief Edition, which will only be available as a pre-order in major retailers.

What’s next for the Third Street Saints after their adventures in Saints Row: The Third? Well, that’s to become the leaders of the free world. Of course a bigger threat is heading their way, and what is this big threat? Aliens.

The Commander in Chief Edition comes with the Screaming Eagle. It’s got talons that can fire rockets and a “Sonic Scream” attack that will have your enemies dazed and confused. Also included is the Uncle Sam uniform (made in USA). That’s not all, you’re also going to be getting the ultimate weapon, The ‘Merica. It’s a big-ass weapon that includes flamethrowers, dub step guns and rocket launchers.

Synopsis: In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. But the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.

Saints Row IV: The Commander in Chief Edition will cost $59.99 for consoles and $49.99 for PC.
