THQ recently ended its auction for the remaining games that weren’t purchased during the initial buyout on April 15th. Those games included Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs ATV, Homeworld and more. All the game properties sold during the auction accumulated to $6.55 million. This is all subject to the approval of the Bankruptcy Court, which it will finalize on May 13, 2013.

Swedish video game publisher Nordic Games is definitely the surprise winner for the auction, as they have acquired Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs ATV, Destroy all Humans!, Marvel Super Hero Squad and more. Total cost for all the properties was $4.9 million.

“First and foremost we are very happy about this deal which also turns over a new leaf for the entire Nordic Games Group. In the long term, we either want to cooperate with the original creators or best possible developers in order to work on sequels or additional content for these titles” comments Lars Wingefors, owner and CEO of Nordic Games Group AB. “A very important point for us is not to dash into several self-financed multi-million dollar projects right away, but rather to continue our in-depth analysis of all titles and carefully selecting different financing models for developing new installments of acquired IPs.”

Next up is Gearbox Software for the purchase of Homeworld for $1.35 million.

Italian video game publisher 505 Games purchased Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter for $300,000.
