Call of Duty Black Ops 2 World Championship Finals

Nonstop blood-pumping, nail-biting, and heart-stopping action. With $1,000,000 on the line, I expected nothing less. Day 3 of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Championship set the top three teams to battle it out for not just a huge cash prize, or huge trophy, or rings, but the official title of best in the world (#bestintheworld).

The batches began with a match between two crowd favorites, Fariko Gaming and OG. After some action-packed matches, Fariko’s dominance was shown as they flawlessly took every Hardpoint thrown at them. Although OG put up a great fight in SnD and CTF, Fariko still took the win.

As the finals progressed, it was obvious that most were betting on the house favorite EnvyUs to take the gold, but after the second best of 6 between Fariko and EnvyUs, it came down to the wire as game 11 was one of the closest professional matches I have ever witnessed. In the end, Fariko walks away $400,000 richer and with some impressive titles.

Newcomer to the team, Miracles really stood out to me with his quick, decisive plays, excellent positioning, and impressive mechanics. Team leader Parasite goes on to say in the interview just how much this win really means to all of them. The future looks bright for Fariko Gaming.

All in all, the event was quite impressive. Seeing just how much time and effort Activision, Treyarch, and Xbox have put into eSports competition and preparation shows the dedication these companies have put into making COD a crowd favorite for future events. We hope to see this event repeated every year.
