Before Star Wars and Anakin Skywalker, there was Annikin Starkiller and The Star Wars. The Star Wars was the original screenplay draft from George Lucas that was put on paper three years before the film came out. The first draft had many different changes, including Han Solo as an alien lizard and Luke Skywalker as a jedi general.

Now The Star Wars is being turned into a big comic book event from Dark Horse. J.W. Rinzler, executive editor at LucasBooks, will be writing for the project, and joining him is artist Mike Mayhew (Avengers).

At first George Lucas was hesitant, but thanks to Rinzler and Dark Horse, Lucas has given them the okay to turn the draft into a comic book series.

The Star Wars will be released in September as an eight-issue comic series.
