Ryan Gosling’s new movie about monsters? Just call The Doctor!

Matt Smith is the new Doctor Who.

A film about monsters? Fantasy underworld?

Who you gonna call?

The Doctor, of course!

Ryan Gosling has written and is directing, according to the website, a “fantasy noir, horror and suspense into a modern-day fairytale.” The movie is called How to Catch a Monster. So far, Christina Hendricks and Eva Mendes have been cast in the film. Now it has been confirmed that The Doctor, Matt Smith has been added to cast.

According to the website, the film is:

Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while Bones, her 18-yr-old son, discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.”

Smith recently finished filming this coming season of Doctor Who, which will begin at the end of March. He recently made his directorial debut on a short film called Cargese for the Sky Art series Playhouse Presents. It will premiere in April.

This will be Smith’s US film debut. It is unknown what role Smith will be playing, but we can either suspect the male lead or the villain “Bully.” They are still in the process of casting for the other parts. Filming is scheduled to begin in Detroit this May.
