Disney recently announced that aside from J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars: Episode VII, there will be Star Wars stand-alone movies. It was rumored that Yoda was going to be the star of one, but it looks like EW has the scoop on which characters will be getting their own movies. That’s right, I said characters.

According to EW, the two characters to have their own movies are Han Solo and Boba Fett. These are very interesting choices, since these two characters are very popular with Star Wars fans. With the Yoda rumor, some people didn’t think it would be an interesting movie. As for having a young Han Solo and Boba Fett movie, I’m pretty sure many fans will be okay with that.

If the young Han Solo movie does happen, it would take place between Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope. This would mean that we’re going to need a younger actor to play the smuggler. Be prepared to be bombarded with casting rumors and news. If I can think of an actor off the top of my head who would be good as young Han Solo, I think Armie Hammer would fit the bill.

And for our favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett, his story would take place during the original Star Wars trilogy. Hopefully that means we’ll get to see Darth Vader and/or Jabba the Hutt again. The main question is will Temuera Morrison, the actor who played Jango Fett and the clone-father of Boba Fett, be playing the fan-favorite bounty hunter?

The screenwriters working on the stand-alone films are Simon Kinberg (Mr. & Mrs. SmithSherlock Holmes) and Lawrence Kasdan (screenwriter of The Empire Strikes BackRaiders of the Lost Ark.)

Are you guys looking forward to a young Han Solo or Boba Fett stand-alone movie?
