If you haven’t heard by now, Telltale’s The Walking Dead is making a clean sweep for Game of the Year awards across all video game news media outlets. This could not have come at a better time because the first in-game footage for Terminal Reality’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts has just hit the web.
The game was announced earlier this year and was met immediately with criticism because of its connection to Call of Duty publisher Activision. Having now seen the gameplay I think fans can put their fears to rest. After all, this is the same developer who made the Ghostbusters video game.
The new video gives fans a first look at the Dixon Brothers walking arm-in-arm through the zombie outbreak in Atlanta. The game is based off the TV series and takes place before Rick Grimes awoke from his coma. Fans will see Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus reprise their respective roles. There is not much known about the story, but supposedly you do find out how Daryl got his crossbow. The gameplay footage really reminds me a lot of Dead Island, minus all the different classes of Zombies. This is still really an early preview of the game and there still isn’t a confirmed released date for it.
If you haven’t tried out Telltale’s The Walking Dead, you can download Episode One: A New Day for free for a limited time on iTunes and Xbox 360 right now!
