A look into the TARDIS via Augmented RealityPosted 12:21 pm on Thursday, December 27th, 2012 by Jose Gutierrez III
A fan of Dr. Who by the name of Greg Kumparak decided to make his own table top version of the TARDIS. It is really bigger in the inside than it appears on the outside with the help of augmented reality. This all started on Thanksgiving when he had time to kill and wanted to build something for his desk. He watched “a
crazy ridiculous totally reasonable amount of Dr. Who” (his words not mine) that he decided to build a TARDIS.
When he was finished within a few hours, he then decided to add a few lights to it later in the week. But then he started to think, “What if it had an interior?” And that’s where he started to use the augmented reality programs to create this beautiful piece of machinery. The interior is based on the 2005-2010 series.
Anyway, if you are a fan of Dr. Who you will love this. And if you are not, this technology will amaze you. Just take a look at the video he uploaded. I have one thing to say, and I will let the Fry meme below say it for me.
Though he has no plans on doing a KickStarter (so I don’t know how I will be able to get it), he does want people to be able to get in on the fun as well. So we’ll have to wait and see what he has in the future for us.
