SONY – Next step to 4K Ultra HD

The next step to 4K Ultra HD-video is a step closer, for those who can afford it. Sony has unveiled that along with their $25,000 price tagged 4K Led TV (XBR-84X900) they will bundle exclusively to U.S. consumers a video player that is loaded with content at 4K resolution. Featured full length films and an assortment of promotional short films will encapsulate the player. The TV alone can upscale more than 7,000 Blu-ray titles that are in current distribution with the on-board 4K X-Reality PRO three-chip engine. Don’t hold your breath. Consumers can expect prices to remain high for a long period. We’ve seen this time and time again. With discs, Blu-rays, Plasma to LED, and now 4K.

Those lucky enough to afford this will be indulged with extras. The 4K Ultra HD Home Experience includes:

1- The 84” 4K LED TV

2- The Video Player

3- An Xperia Tablet S (used as a remote!)

4- The following titles in native 4K resolution –

The Amazing Spiderman
Total Recall (2012)
The Karate Kid (2010)
Salt
Battle Los Angeles
The Other Guys
Bad Teacher
That’s My Boy
Taxi Driver
The Bridge on the River Kwai
