Nintendo Download – Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion demo, Pokédex 3D ProPosted 8:24 pm on Thursday, November 8th, 2012 by Ryan Southard
This week’s Nintendo Download blasts off with a demo for the much-anticipated Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion for 3DS. Mizrabel from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is wreaking havoc on Mickey and friends, and it is your task to stop her. The game features several figures from Disney’s past including Beast, Scrooge McDuck (apparently the shopkeeper of the game), and Rapunzel.
The game has traditional 2D head-boppin’ action, as well as the ability to destroy or create objects in the game world. The creation part is a little bit more like Okami than how it was in the console version of Epic Mickey. Players will trace the outline of objects, being penalized for inaccuracies. This version also features a new ability, sketching, which allows Mickey to equip specific powers such as the power to float, or bring in an angry block to stomp enemies into non-existence.
Nintendo also just released the Pokédex 3D Pro, an application that allows for the sorting, ranking and comparison of more than 640 of your Poképals. Players can also look up each of the moves a Pokémon will learn, as well as how and when each Pokémon evolves.
As a heads up for next week, a downloadable version of Paper Mario: Sticker Star will be available on November 11th at the same time it hits retail stores.
Johnny Hotshot includes various play-styles, including one that’s similar to the arcade great, Wild Guns. If you’re in the mood to dress some witches, then Dress to Play: Cute Witches is all you will be needing this weekend. Come On! Dragons is a tower defense game that lets you shoot your enemies with a barrage of arrows, as well as allowing you to place different kinds of defenses. Lastly, we have a game that everyone here will be rushing to their 3DS/DSi to play: Smart Girl’s Playhouse mini, a game that is pretty much as you would expect.
On the Wii side of things, an old-school arcade beat-em-up, Sengoku 2, just released on the Virtual Console.
That’s all for now! Keep gaming, and enjoy your weekend!
