Say whaaaaaa?!

News just broke today that actor and singer Jamie Foxx is in negotiations to play the villain in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Following the ending of the first Amazing Spider-Man film, fans were left with an interesting scene midway through the credits. Dr. Curt Connors sat in a holding cell talking to a mysterious figure. Many believed that the mystery man could be the famed Spider-Man villain, Electro.

According to fan theories, the amount of lighting that is heard in the background and that the figure appears and disappears literally in a flash is good evidence to indicate he would possibly be Electro. Some say that this may also be a hint that he will likely be the main villain for the next movie.

Variety is reporting that Jamie Foxx is currently in negotiations to be part of the blockbuster and rumor has it he is bidding for the part as Electro. This is some what interesting since the unknown man from the first film was actually played by Michael Massee. It also doesn’t help that Foxx sent out an interesting tweet earlier today.

“Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well”

My guess is that they could go for a more Ultimate Electro look, which would better suit Foxx usually shaven head.

In a recent interview, Director Marc Webb has been dodging the question of the identity of the unknown man entirely, but added some interesting comments.

“There is a silhouette as Peter enters Oscorp on a display, which reads our founder, Norman Osborn. And there is a back-story which I will not reveal. We wanted to convey that there were more forces at work than you may have initially thought. That’s all I can say about that.”

Fans will have to wait until 2014 when Marc Webb, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone return in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
