Halloween is almost upon us and earlier this month we celebrated the return of the Walking Dead at Diesel Filling Station, a local bar that hosts season and new episode premieres in Atlanta, Georgia. We got a chance to check it out, and I must say it was an absolute blast! We had zombies, zombie hunters, good food, trivia, and the entire place was filled to the brim with hardcore fans (seriously, the place hit capacity at 5pm, and the premiere wasn’t until 9!).

When we got there, the line stretched out to the street well past the episodes starting time. Luckily, for the people who couldn’t make it inside on time, there were TV sets on the patio and the sound was loud enough for everyone to hear. So even if you weren’t at a table, you could still enjoy the show, so long as you didn’t mind standing around.
There were photographers and a table set up with various popular weapons from the show (did you see our Cin De with the crossbow?).

Soldiers, Zombies, mercenaries…they were everywhere, and you could tell this was going to be a great start to the season. We even had zombies from the actual show come and watch with us! It was truly amazing!

All the waiters and waitresses did their absolute best to make sure every single person was well taken care of. They were absolutely amazing! The fans were scattered all over the place, enjoying each other’s company and good times being had. Everyone here was a fan and there was no escape.

When the show started, you could hardly tell it was a party. It got so incredibly quiet and the only times you heard anyone speak were the funny moments of the show and during commercial breaks. After commercials when the show would come back on, you got shushed. And I mean SHUSHED! Even the DJ informed everyone that talking was not permitted during the show, or you would be kicked out if you caused any disruption. This was truly…a fan’s party.

In conclusion, there is no better place to watch an episode of the Walking Dead than at Diesel, where the food is good, the fans are plenty and the walking dead rule over all!
