Legendary nabs itself a writer for Mass Effect

Four years ago, Legendary Entertainment acquired the film rights from EA and BioWare for Mass Effect. Shortly after Legendary tabbed Thor writer Mark Protosevich to tackle the first version of the script. That folks is the last bit of news we’ve heard from Mass Effect… That is until today, when it was reported that Legendary has hired Morgan Davis Foehl to write the highly anticipated adaptation. Never heard of Morgan Davis Foehl? There is a reason for that. A former assistant editor, Foehl has yet to have any of his scripts produced. His current writing credits include Whatever Gets You Through the Night, an adaptation of Top Cow’s Crosshair, and Alien Sleeper Cell.

The producers chose Foehl’s take on the project because he is a Mass Effect fan and has also written “action pics with a strong espionage bent”, which is very similar to the overall plot of Mass Effect. With Mass Effect garnering a writer, expect more news to come on the project when (or if) Foehl’s script gets green lighted.
