The media train is finally rolling on Marvel’s Phase 2 plans. After all teasers (#1 and #2) for the trailer, the teaser poster, and the stills, the Iron Man 3 trailer is finally here! And guess what? It’s as awesome as you think it is! So what are you doing reading this, watch the trailer now!

Everything that has been said about Iron Man 3 seems to ring very true. This will be Tony’s most personal journey yet; Iron Man 3 is more Dark Knight than a typical Marvel movie. EVERYTHING is true. I was also there for Hall H when the first footage (My SDCC footage description can be found here) was seen and let me tell you that 90% of the footage here is brand spanking new. The tone is also very dark, which proves that IM3 is more Dark Knight than Marvel movie very true. What made the Dark Knight so great was the danger that you felt when watching the movie. You don’t know which characters were going to live and which were going to die, and the main character goes through hell as he grows as a character. Those worried about the dark tone and the lack of comedic moments shouldn’t worry! Shane Black knows how to write witty dialogue. The Extremis suit up moment and the scene with Happy and Tony from the SDCC footage are comedic scenes. As you know that I am very biased when it comes to Iron Man but this footage to me represents everything that is great about the character. No matter what the odds are, Tony Stark will always come back even more resilient (Those that read the comics should get that pun) than ever.

If the quality of Iron Man 3 is indicative of how the quality of Phase 2 is going to be then Marvelites we are in for a helluva ride!
