‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ movie will have robots, time travel, and superheroes

It was revealed before that the X-Men: First Class sequel, Days of Future Past, would follow the story of the comic book arc of the same name. Future Kitty Pryde goes back in time to warn the X-Men about mutants being enslaved by the sentinels. FOX recently hired  Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Wanted, Civil War) as a creative consultant to help shape their Marvel movies, X-Men and Fantastic Four, back into shape.

Mark Millar has revealed some more information about what we can expect from the Days of Future Past movie. It’s like X-Men meets The Terminator.

“[Director Matthew] Vaughn is going for a big sci-fi style thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

“You’ve got robots, you’ve got time travel, you’ve got superheroes — it’s got everything in one film … [like] X-Men meets The Terminator”.

“Cost-wise it’s going to go up, and ambitious-wise it’s gone up. But Vaughn can handle it. Vaughn made Kick-Ass for $28 million.”

I’m pretty impressed that FOX and director Matthew Vaughn are actually going to include time traveling and robots. With five X-Men movies out, we only got a glimpse of one sentinel, and it was via a Danger Room sequence.

I’m still wondering if it’s going to use the same characters in First Class. If that’s the case, that means we might see present Kitty Pryde warning Professor X and his group from the late 70s/early 80s.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on July 18, 2014.
