Last week, we got to check out the national opening for Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology. The event itself was awesome and that’s not just because we had free food and drinks. Many of those in attendance were dressed up as Indiana Jones as well. Also to add to the atmosphere, there were actors littered around not only dressed as characters from the Indy films, but also being in character as well.

The event kicked off with a live band playing that was very reminiscent of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. There were a few speakers that spoke prior to the official opening, but a special appearance by Indiana Jones (not Harrison Ford) took the cake. You can check out the video below.

After we were let into the exhibit, we were handed a pair of headphones and a small touchscreen device. As you walk through the exhibit, you can enter a number corresponding with a particular exhibit piece into the device, and it plays a video about that piece. For kids, there was a built-in scavenger hunt to where you place the device over certain things and it scans it. In the exhibit itself, there was artifacts and other things from all 4 movies as well as areas branching off that had to do with the archaeological aspect of each film.

All in all, the exhibit is definitely worth seeing. If you live in SoCal, you can currently see it at the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana. If you’re not in SoCal, not to worry, the exhibit will be traveling throughout the U.S. Check out our gallery below!
