Marvel Studios has released the official synopsis for Thor: The Dark World. You know, I have to say that after seeing the Avengers, Marvel is going to have to do a pretty good job to keep us interested in these amazing stories. And from the looks of things, this looks like it could very well be the Thor film we’ve been waiting to see.

Here’s the synopsis:

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Presented by Marvel Studios, Thor: The Dark World is directed by Game Of Thrones’Alan Taylor and invades theaters on November 8, 2013. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

FINALLY! I’ve wanted to see a proper Thor film which involves at least 2 or more of the other realms. Not only that, but we’re getting some great additions to the cast as we have the 9th Doctor himself, Christopher Eccleston as a possible big bad! And with the news that we “may” get a cameo from ol’ Cap himself, this is looking to be one heck of a cinematic experience!

“Thor: The Dark World” brings down the Hammer on November 8th, 2013.
