Welcome back, Daredevil, to the Marvel Studios familyPosted 10:49 am on Friday, October 12th, 2012 by John 'Spartan' Nguyen
It’s official. The Daredevil movie rights has returned back to Disney and Marvel. Fox’s rights to making Daredevil movies ended on Wednesday, October 10. I wonder if Marvel is going crazy over having the blind hero back, and when we can expect production to start rolling. Right now, Marvel Studios has a lot on their plate with the upcoming Iron Man 3, Captain America: Winder Soldier, Thor: The Dark World, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant Man, and The Avengers 2 movies. I’m pretty sure they can squeeze in Daredevil somewhere.
Fox was okay with letting Daredevil go, since they didn’t do great with Ben Affleck as the hero. Let’s not even talk about Elektra. As long as Fox still has the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four, they should be happy. Josh Trank is attached to direct the reboot for Fantastic Four, but I’m really hoping that things won’t fall through, leaving the Fantastic Four rights to go back to Marvel. Sadly, I think that’s not going to happen, since they’ve hired Mark Millar (Civil War, Kick-Ass) as a consultant.
Either way, this is good news for Marvel, since they’re slowly getting their characters back.
