Marvel’s Kevin Feige gives his opinion on DC’s Justice League movie plans

There is no doubt that The Avengers: Phase One was a huge success for Marvel Studios and Disney. Naturally, Warner Brothers and DC are anxious to get sum-of-dat cheddar (money, they want money). First news of DC’s Justice League plans began to spread during the production of The Green Lantern. According to numerous sources, success of the film would determine whether or not Warner Bros. would move forward with their Justice League plans. Unfortunately for them, Green Lantern was a trashed by critics and didn’t favor too well at the box office.

Fast forward a year later, Christopher Nolan’s trilogy is in the books and with Man of Steel on the horizon, talk of a Justice League movie have come up once again. Rumors say that the Justice League movie will follow after Man of Steel and Lobo, another film Warner Brother is currently developing, which┬ámay star The Rock. Following the Justice League, the rebooted Batman will be released, followed by Wonder Woman and The Flash.

This is a much more different plan than what Marvel had in mind for Phase One, which is to release the films one by one and have them meet at the end. So what does the Marvel Studios head hancho Kevin Feige have to say about DC’s supposed plan?

“There’s no rule that say you have to do it one way or the other, though I believe that what was unique about ‘Avengers’ was not that it was a group of superheroes, but a group of superheroes you knew and loved from other [films] all coming together. It wasn’t like ‘X-Men,’ which is inherently a team-based film, or ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ which we’re working on right now and is also a team-based film from the start. It was all of these people from other stories coming in and merging for one story. That’s what was cool to me about ‘Super Friends’ when I was a kid and that’s why I wanted to do ‘Avengers’ the way we did it.”

Well played Feige, well played. You’re probably not going to get a, “their idea is stupid, ours is better,” out of of Mr. Feige anytime soon.

What do you think about DC and Warner Bros. rumored Justice League plans? Ready for another Batman? Still have that bad taste in your mouth from Green Lantern? Hoping Man of Steel doesn’t suck? Leave your comments in the section below.
