Gotham City Impostors sneakily goes F2P on SteamPosted 10:05 am on Friday, August 31st, 2012 by Michael Revis
With almost no fanfare, Gotham City Impostors went full on free-to-play on Steam yesterday, taking many by surprise, and leaving some gaming journalists a bit baffled as to just what exactly was going on. Earlier today, a press release confirmed the new state the game is in, and it is officially purchasable for free.
The game itself still has the same quirky, Batman inspired arena combat, only now with a new pricetag (or lack of one). The F2P version has access to the original game, as well as all the DLC packs, including weapons, maps, and more, and is even Steamworks enabled.
As for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, no word has been made on how they’ll fare, or if they plan on giving any attention to them at all. We’ll try to get word on that, as well as what this means for people that already plopped some money down for the original version.
