Item 47 star hints a possible role in future Marvel movies

Lizzy Caplan first broke into the nerd spectrum with Matt Reeves and JJ Abram’s Cloverfield. She then appeared on HBO’s True Blood and during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Lizzy was featured in the highly talked about Avenger’s short-film, Item 47. Only select few were able to attend the premier through social media and viral marketing, but the short will be attached on to The Avenger’s Blu-ray for all to see come September 25th.

In Item 47, Claire(Lizzy Caplan) and Benny(Jesse Bradford) come upon one of the Chitauri weapons left after the events of The Avengers. Rather than hand it over the the proper authorities, they use the weapon to go on a crime spree. Unfortunately for them, two S.H.I.E.L.D agents are tasked with retrieving the weapon and bring them to justice.

Recently, she and Bachelorette co-star Adam Scott talked to Movieline about the possibility of her returning to the Marvel Universe in the near future.

“Well, I can definitely foresee Marvel not only asking me to be the star of one of their action movies from that short, but also [asking me] to cast the other people in the movie. So I’ve been thinking about this a lot, and I think…Adam would be the She-Hulk, and I would just be a regular person!”

Of course she was just joking around but Party Down co-star Adam Scott actually thinks she’d be perfect for NBC’s Parks and Recreation. To which Lizzy quickly replied, “as She-Hulk!”

This will naturally have the internet buzzing about her possibly playing She-Hulk, which I don’t think she’s hinting at, but is there chance we may see her character pop up again?

A few months back, Item 47 co-star Jesse Bradford asked producers that same question.

“The possible goal is that these guys become part of the world. The other possible thing is that this is just it. We don’t know yet.”

So it is still pretty much up in the air at this point. Once again, The Avengers Blu-ray hits store shelves September 25th.
