Unity supported by Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8Posted 10:24 am on Monday, August 27th, 2012 by James Martinez
If you’re a game developer, then you’ve probably worked with Unity before. With recent companies putting Windows 8 down, you’ll be happy to know that Unity will not only support Windows 8 and also Windows Phone 8 (WP8).
Unity CEO David Helgason made the announcement this week at Unite 2012 in Amsterdam stating, “The Unity community has been asking for access to Windows Phones and have been eagerly anticipating the release of Windows 8. We’re happy to announce that we will support both.”
The development tool has had a rapid growth in the last couple of years. Helgason himself revealed that 53% of mobile game developers have published games using Unity, that’s absolutely amazing. On top of the new Windows support, the platform will bring select games to Atom processor-powered Android devices!
