It’s a sad day today with the announcement that Nintendo Power is no more. Even though I haven’t had a subscription since I was a wee lil’ lad, I still remember the good ol’ days of getting excited every month like it’s Christmas, as if the mailman was Santa Claus. As a kid living before the age of instant online news, this was the only thing we had to see previews, screenshots, mails from other gamers, and just getting excited about upcoming games. Nintendo Power, you will be missed.

And for those who still have a Nintendo Power subscription, we’re not sure how they will get compensated and how many more issues they’ll be getting. With a circulation of 475,000; I’m surprised they had to shut down.

The good news about gaming print? Game Informer is the third most popular magazine in the nation.
