It looks like the Daredevil rights saga is coming to a close, as Deadline is reporting that Fox is throwing in the towel in rebooting the Daredevil franchise. Which means that come October 15, Daredevil will officially come back home to Marvel Studios. Rumors swirled earlier today when Joe Carnahan tweeted,

I think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited,Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids.

After talks between Fox and Marvel essentially dissipated, Fox became lukewarm about the idea of making the movie. So ultimately, they decided to just let the property go and focus on Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot instead.

With Daredevil back, it is now up to Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, to decide whether or not Joe Carnahan will direct the new Daredevil franchise. It might also stay on the shelf until Feige feels it’s time for the Man Without Fear to come out of the shadows and save Hell’s Kitchen (or the world) once again. Remember folks, Daredevil is a core character in the Marvel universe, many possibilities can arise from Daredevil coming back home. Maybe a Marvel Knights movie with Iron Fist/Heroes for Hire, Punisher, and Daredevil movie? Only time will tell.
