Oh, this contest should be fun for TV and film fans living or planning to visit New York City or Boston. We’re teaming up with On Location Tours where one winner can win 2 tickets to a TV & Movie Sites tour location of their choice, New York City or Boston. The New York TV & Movie Sites tour is a 3.5-hour tour in the city that includes sites from Spider-Man, Men in Black, The Avengers, Superman and more (over 60 locations). Check out the video below.

Here’s how you enter. Use the comment section below and tell us your favorite New York City/Boston moment/event in a movie or TV and explain why.

My favorite would have to be New York City in Independence Day. I love destruction movies, and it was the first time for me to see destruction that’s really big in scale. This movie actually made me want to visit New York City during the time of its release.

My favorite New York City event in a movie is when King Kong climbs the Empire State Building in King Kong (1933). It is just an epic scene that can’t be duplicated. I like it because whenever I see it, it reminds me I have to visit New York City again.

My fave NEW YORK CITY event in a movie is…….. When the Statue of Liberty came to “life” in Ghostbusters. Not because it was a cool sight to see, but… EPIC UPSKIRT!! High five!

My favorite New York City movie moments would have to be from the movie Home Alone Lost In New York. Throughout this whole movie Macaulay Culkin, whose character Kevin McCallister, is in the famous Plaza Hotel ordering tons of room service, shopping in a big toy store, hanging around Central Park and at the end of the movie he ends up at the famous Rockefeller Center where they show the famous Rockefeller Christmas Tree where many New Yorkers get together every year to see the lighting of this famous tree. It is hard to pick just one great New York City moment in this movie because this movie represents the nostalgia and all that is great about New York City!!

Ghostbuster’s II comes to mind because I love the giant Stay Puft Marshmallow Man roaming around New York. As far as Boston is concerned there are not many movies come that come to mind off the top of my head. One memorable moment in a movie featuring Boston is TED. Yes, the silly movie with the talking, perverted, and snarky bear. I enjoyed seeing Fenway Park represented during the scenes in which Ted was trying to escape the lunatic that was chasing him. TED was a bit over the top, but overall an enjoyable movie with lots of hilarious scenes.

Favorite New York moment in film is in The Seven Year Itch when Marilyn Monroe stands over a subway grate which blows her white dress around her legs. So classic New York!

Last scene in the movie “You’ve Got Mail” when Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) met the love of her life Joe Fox (Tom Hanks) at the 91st Street Park. It highlighted a whole section of New York that I’ve never seen on film before. This made me want to explore the many parks and gardens in New York City other than Central Park, which is one of my favorite places to visit.

Definitely the final scene in the movie “You’ve Got Mail” where Meg Ryan’s character finally meets the love or her life, who happens to be the biggest enemy of her life. I’ve watched the scene dozens of times and so wanted to find the site when I visited New York City last month for medical reasons.

The most memorable scene was in Planet of the Apes where the Statue of Liberty was partially buried, and he realized he was in New York.
