Sony expands the PlayStation 3 Collections with God of War, Infamous and Ratchet & Clank
Posted 9:03 am on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 by Chris Del CastilloSony knows a few ways to make customers happy. The easiest way is to take great classic games from the past and bring them over to the PlayStation 3 (or PS Vita) and give them the HD touch up, Trophy support and give it a good price, like with the Metal Gear, Devil May Cry, Jak and Daxter collections.
Sony announced via their Sony Blog, three titles have been announced for an August 28th release date and they are some good ones.
The last Lombax in the universe and his trusty robot partner are back. This time their past tales are getting an upgraded look, 3D support and trophies for all that hard work of blowing things up.
Ratchet and Clank Collection was announced a few months ago and brings the first three games to the PlayStation 3: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. If you played Up Your Arsenal, you’ll probably remember that there was an online mode, and Sony hasn’t forgotten about that and decided to turn the servers back on for the game.
Along with the three games, people who buy the collection from any retailer will also receive a Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary Avatar and the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo.
The Ratchet and Clank Collection will retail for $29.99
This one is an interesting one, since Sony has already released a God of War collections for the PS3. For the new one, it’s going to be called the God of War Saga which features: God of War, God of War 2, God of War 3, God of War: Origins Collection download code for PSN (which includes God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta), Bonus Content, Voucher For one Trial Month of PlayStation Plus, Full PlayStation Network Trophy Support and 3D support.
You get everything for $39.99, which is a pretty good price for anyone who hasn’t picked up the series yet.
Cole is back in a collection of his own. The PlayStation exclusive character even stepped out of his game and became a fighter in Street Fighter X Tekken, and he will also be a playable character in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale but before the inFamous Collection will be released featuring: inFAMOUS, inFAMOUS 2, inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood DLC, Extra missions and Additional character costumes, power ups and weapon styles.
Currently this doesn’t have a price but chances are will also run $39.99 like the God of War Collection.
