Fox says no to Galactus/Silver Surfer, Daredevil likely to revert back to MarvelPosted 7:05 pm on Monday, August 6th, 2012 by Mark Pacis
In what comes as no surprise to this seriously bummed writer. Fox has told Deadline that with Chronicle director Josh Trank on board to direct the upcoming reboot, Fantastic Four is on the top of Fox’s priority list and that they “would be crazy to give away a cornerstone villain.” Insiders have also told Deadline that Fox is lukewarm about rebooting the Daredevil franchise.
To be honest, I expected this as Fantastic Four has an entire cast of characters and a universe behind it, while Daredevil’s universe is about half that. I really wanted this one though, the amount of possible storylines Galactus and Silver Surfer would have created in a Marvel cinematic universe would be so epic that it would blow our minds… Nuclear style.
But alas, it has not come to be. Unless Fox has a change of heart between now and October 10th, we can expect to celebrate the return of Daredevil to the Marvel cinematic family. A look on the bright side is that we’re one step closer (and few box office bombs away) for the rest of the family to return back home where they belong: Marvel Studios.
