New Area 51 AMC series is being developed by Walking Dead producerPosted 4:41 pm on Sunday, July 29th, 2012 by Mike Villarreal
Get ready to be burned out on Area 51 in 2013. Earlier this year it was reported that the people who brought you Paranormal Activity are working on a new found-footage film that circles around the infamous top-secret military base hidden in the Nevada desert. Also recently announced this week, Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd is currently developing a new series that will take place in the 50s and 60s and will following the historic crash at Roswell, New Mexico.
The series is based on the book by Annie Jacobsen, which revolves around many of the untold stories and mysteries that surround the secret base. The show will follow scientist and soldiers station at the base at the time the UFO crash landed in Roswell. The series is still in the early development stages, so no word on who will be cast in the series, but Todd E. Kessler has been penned to write the pilot.
With the success of AMC’s The Walking Dead, you can bet this series will be put on the fast track, and we’ll likely get to see a glimpse of it at next year’s Comic-Con. Hopefully it will be as good as the 90s WB teen-drama Roswell, right? What? Don’t judge me!
