You have to love the power of crowd funding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. If a project reaches the goal, the creators’ dream gets to come true. I’m still trying to think what Nerd Reactor can come up with as a Kickstarter project. Maybe Nerdzilla plushies?

Anyway, there’s an Indiegogo project called Posthuman, a potential web series that follows 5 teenagers with superpowers. Think of it like Breakfast Club meets X-Men, or Chronicles without the shaky cam. Here’s a test shot that shows off what the web series is capable of in terms of special effects. Don’t mind the stung choreography and acting, this was shot on location in half a day.

Starring in Posthuman will be Noah Crawford. He played Young Earl in My Name is Earl and did voice work in Marvel’s Next Avengers. Finally, a teenager who actually looks like a teenager. Sorry Tobey and Andrew.

At the helm is Kyle Roberts, his first feature-length project. He’s known for creating stop-motion short movies like The Battle of the Bonds and the TMNT Stop Motion Intro. Posthuman is definitely something different from his usual format.

So if you like what you see, go ahead to the Posthuman Indiegogo page and make a pledge. Hurry soon, because the deadline is almost up!
