Who will Michael Fassbender star as in Assassin’s Creed movie?

Michael Fassbender is hot commodity right now. He was Magneto in X-Men: First Class and was a Spartan in 300. Recently we saw him in Prometheus as the android, David. Now, he’ll be starring and co-producing the Assassin’s Creed film adaptation from the video game franchise by Ubisoft under his DMC Film studio.

Sony, late last year, struck a deal with Ubisoft to create an Assassin’s Creed movie after other movie studios declined. The deal would give Ubisoft full creative rights. People within the industry did not like the idea, and the deal was put on hold.

As a fan of the franchise, it’s a great idea to give the creators full creative rights. Who better to help with making the movie than the actual guys who create the games? Since Ubisoft is a big enough company, they have decided to film it independently with Michael Fassbender starring and co-producing. We’re sure to get something we’ve never witnessed before in a film adaptation of a video game.

The question I want to know is who will Michael Fassbender be playing? Will he be a new assassin, or will he be portraying Desmond Miles, the main character from the Assassin’s Creed franchise?

“Michael Fassbender was our first choice” to play the franchise’s iconic hooded hero, said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Paris-based Ubisoft Motion Pictures. “Michael (Fassbender) is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.”

I don’t consider Desmond as a hooded hero, since most of the time he’s inside the Animus machine reliving lives of his ancestors, who are the real hooded heroes. Plus, he doesn’t even use his hood. As for the actual hooded heroes, Altair and Ezio, I doubt we’ll get another story from them, since their stories have already been done to death.

And if Lucy Stillman will be in the movie, please get Kristen Bell! She was the model and voice for that character.
