Telltale announces more episodes of The Walking Dead and comments on Activision upcoming title

Telltale games just recently released Episode 2: Starved for help, 2 of 5 episodes scheduled to be released this year. The developer also recently confirmed that they would be releasing the 5 episodes in retail outlets later this year. The Walking Dead video game episodes are currently only available for download through Xbox Live, PSN, Steam and iOS.

Telltale also announced that this would not be their last venture into the world of The Walking Dead.

“Our first episodic game series based on The Walking Dead has sold nearly 1.7 million episodes to consumers in just our first 8 weeks with no signs of slowing down. We have three more episodes to go, with Episode 3 targeted for August as we confirmed yesterday.”

“Following the digital release of our fifth episode, we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do.”

Good to hear for those of us that are fans of Telltale currently series. You can check out my review of Episode 1 in the link below. I should have my Episode 2 review up shortly, if I can stomach playing through it one more time.

Telltale also commented on the recent announcement of Activision own Walking Dead video game, developed by Terminal Reality.

“Regarding today’s announcement of a project based [on] the AMC TV series coming in 2013. As huge fans of the franchise and the show, we’re looking forward to seeing Terminal Reality’s game when it comes out.”

Way to play nice Telltale. Terminal did do a great job with their Ghostbusters game. So, I think it is safe to say whatever they put out should be pretty interesting.

Episode 2 of Telltale’s Walking Dead is currently available and Episode 3: Long Road Ahead is scheduled to come out later this August.
