Ticket scalpers have been the vain of many concert goers for years, asking unreasonable prices for concert tickets at SOLD OUT shows. Now it seems they have shifted their focus to Movie Tickets as well. Earlier this month, tickets when on sale for the midnight showing of the highly anticipated conclusion to the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

Tickets sold out at an unbelievable rate in both New York and Los Angeles for the midnight showing. Shortly there after, tickets began to appear on ebay and Craigslist from anywhere between $100 to $300 bucks. $100 for the IMAX midnight showing and $300 for The Dark Knight Rises Marathon, where all 3 films will be played back-to-back.

This may be the first time in recent memory that movie tickets have been scalped. So far, it doesn’t seem like there are any takers. We can only hope this will not become a continuing problem in the future.

Th Dark Knight Rises lands in theaters July 20th.
