Seems like AMC is not shying away from letting out any spoilers from Season 3 of The Walking Dead. Just last week, it was revealed that everyone’s favorite racist redneck, Merle, would finally make his return in this upcoming season, but he may not be the only one making a long awaited return.
Recently, Digital Spy sat down with Lennie James and talked about how he had been talking to the shows producers, and there’s is a strong possibility we might see Morgan Jones and his son Duane once again.
“There have been a few back and forth conversations and they check up on me every now and then. I had a fantastic time working on the pilot with Andy Lincoln and especially Frank Darabont. He’s somebody that I’d directorially always wanted to work with and I’m glad I got the opportunity … There’s a possibility I might go back. It just depends on timing-wise if I’m free. At least one of the times they contacted me about it, I was busy doing something else, which I think was actually [BBC series] Line of Duty.”
The last time we saw Morgan and his son, they decided to stay behind in King’s County and said farewell to Rick Grimes. Not wanting to lose touch, Rick left Morgan a Walkie-Talkie just in case. In Episode 5: “Wildfire,” Rick tries to contact Morgan with the Walkie-Talkie and leaves a note behind to inform him the group is heading to the CDC. The last time Rick tried to make contact with Morgan was in the first episode of Season 2, he informed him that they were abandoning Atlanta and the CDC was gone. He mentions that they are now heading to Fort Benning but he never receives a reply.
Fans of the comics will know, that Morgan does reappear in the series, but we can only wonder if Robert Kirkman will alter his return in any way for the TV series. Either way, let’s be kind and keep spoilers out of the comment section
The Walking Dead returns to AMC this October.
