Zombie apocalypse during San Diego Comic-ConPosted 2:06 pm on Thursday, May 17th, 2012 by Jose Gutierrez III
During San Diego Comic-Con 2012, Petco Park will be turned into a scene straight out ofThe Walking Dead. Petco Park will be turned into an obstacle course, but not just any obstacle course, it will be a zombie apocalypse-themed one. From the looks of it there will be zombie walkers that will take part on this. You can check out the map above on the full course. If you look closely it says version 1.1, so this may not be the final layout.
According to the site:
No one is timed, and you are not required to run, but the slow usually die for a reason.
If this sounds like something up your alley, then you may want to go to the link below and check it out. The site is looking for Walkers and zombie fodder participants. They also have something for people who just want to enjoy the show. I will probably be part of the spectator crowd, since I am not the running type of person.
To take part in this as a runner, you’ll have to pay a $70 fee. That is if you order between May 10th to June 9th. Then from June 9th to July 10th, it will rise to $80. Or you can just show up on the day of the event, but that will cost you $90, and they may not even take walk-ins. Walk-ins depend on spot availability. Walkers and spectators will have to pay as well, but no price has been listed.
This will be a three-day event during San Diego Comic-Con. The dates and times are as listed:
- Thursday, July 12 – 6PM-9PM
- Friday, July 13- 1PM-9PM
- Saturday, July 14- 11AM-6PM
The ones that make it all the way to the EVAC Zone and Walkers will receive an Exclusive Special Edition of The Walking Dead 100th issue. For the spectators, they will receive the Exclusive Special Edition poster of the cover of the 100th issue of The Walking Dead.
So if you are attending this as a Walker, bite a couple people for me, will you? If you’re going as a spectator, I will probably see you there. But if you plan to join as a runner, I wish you luck on your adventure. And I will leave you with two pieces of advice. First, remember you don’t have to outrun the zombie; you just have to outrun the person next to you. Secondly, if the first cannot happen, I leave you with a picture of what I would do since I am not the running type. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
