Telltale's The Walking Dead takes the #1 spot on Xbox Live Arcade

Major Nelson has just recently released the Top Purchased Games on Xbox Live Arcade and Telltale’s The Walking Dead is at the top of the list. Recently we reviewed the first Episode of the game and even gave it a “B”.

The cel-shaded look of the game gives it that comic book feel, but it is the voice-over work that really shines in this game. You can’t help but feel invested in the lives of both Lee and Clementine, two complete strangers who did not know each other prior to the events of the game. I believe as a Walking Dead fan, you know just how quickly things can go from bad to worst, and you just hope that Lee and Clementine will make it through whatever that is ahead of them in the sick twisted world.

It is a must play for any Walking Dead fan and will leave you itching for the the release of Episode 2 – Starved for Help.

Also, the recently released follow up to the highly acclaimed Trials HD, Trials: Evolution sits in 2nd place, followed by Fable Heroes. Fez and Awesomenauts, round out the Top 5.

Major Nelson also revealed a list of the Most Played Games according to the number of unique users on Xbox Live. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 sits at number #1, followed by Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops. With the recent announcement of Black Ops 2, many fans are more than likely picking up the title again to prepare for the new game this fall. Fifa 12 comes in a 3rd and Battlefield 3 follows in 4th. Halo: Reach rounds out the Top 5, which is not bad for a game that was released in 2010 and has to compete against more recently released FPS games like Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and Gears of War 3.
