Lou Ferrigno Interview at Ottawa Comiccon
Posted 8:15 pm on Saturday, May 12th, 2012 by Genevieve LeBlancHulk smash! The first annual Ottawa Comiccon may only be half over, but Nerd Reactor is already bringing you a taste of the convention that’s been blowing expectations to pieces in Canada’s capital. The Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno was kind enough to give us a moment of his time at his booth for a quick interview.
A headlining guest at the newborn convention, Ferrigno’s main priority this weekend was signing autographs and meeting fans; hence his only giving limited interviews and short panels. However, fans are walking away satisfied as the athlete and actor charms Ottawa natives with his personality and prowess. In fact, one of the most commonly discussed topics in the convention centre’s hallways seems to be just how much of an impression the man makes, be it with his personality or his muscles.
In his 60’s, Ferrigno has the appearance of a man twenty years younger and claims his youthful appearance is due to nothing more than living a healthy lifestyle, which obviously includes lots of exercise. In his Q&A panel, he mentioned that at his peak he was capable of bench-pressing over 500lbs, but is now consistently capable of benching 350lbs, to which the audience responded with a round of applause. Be it discussing his former Hulk co-star, the late Bill Bixby, his recent appearance on The Apprentice, or his charity work, Ferrigno is a straight-shooter with a calm, professional demeanor.
Ferrigno’s talents can most recently be heard in The Avengers where he provides the voice of his most recognizable role, The Hulk. The fact that he is still Hollywood’s go-to-guy for a character whom he portrayed 35 years ago solidifies Ferrigno’s iconic status and reminds us that the public’s affection for him is far from waning.
More coverage on Ottawa Comiccon will here on Nerd Reactor in the coming days!
